[VISTA] REALMLIST CHANGE

The first step in editing your realmlist.wtf file is to ensure that you can access file extensions.


1. Open the CONTROL PANEL (from the Start Menu)
2. Open the FOLDER OPTIONS
3. Click on the VIEW tab at the top of the FOLDER OPTIONS window
4. UN-check the "HIDE EXTENSIONS FOR KNOWN FILE TYPES"



This will allow you to alter the .WTF portion of the file which is a common problem to the next step.


Again, due to the default security settings in Vista, editing the realmlist can give you problems. Here's an easy way to circumvent the problem:


1. Navigate to your World Of Warcraft folder (C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\)
2. Make a copy of EXISTING (original) realmlist.wtf file
3. RENAME the existing realmlist.wtf to something else (i.e. realmlist.OLD)
4. RENAME the "Copy of realmlist.wtf" to realmlist.wtf
5. Using NOTEPAD, edit the NEW realmlist.wtf with the appropriate settings and save.
